The contribution of the D.A.V. Organization in the field of education has been acknowledged by one and all for more than a century in India and abroad. D.A.V College, Pehowa with NAAC Ranking B+ in 2003 has its feet firmly rooted in the teachings of Maharishi Dayanand and is closely moving with the age introducing courses in the emerging modern areas. Under the direct control of D.A.V College Managing Committee, New Delhi, the biggest Private Educational Trust in the country, running more than 700 institutions in all, the college has more than 1500 students on its rolls today. Seeds of this blossoming and fruit bearing tree of today were shown in 1981 by a few noble enthusiasts with a view to liberate the energies of wisdom, devotion and skills talent in our boys and girls and to in fuse them with vital ideals of humanity.
Located on the bank of the holy river Saraswati, it is a multi-faculty co-education institution affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. The college now runs graduation classes in all the three faculties, namely Arts, Commerce and Science, Post-graduate courses in Mathematics, English & M.Com.
Though only 42 years old, the college has covered a niche for itself in the state of Haryana not only by virtue of academic results but also by its achievements in other fields like sports, Extra-Curricular activities, N.S.S., N.C.C., Women Cell, Red Ribbon Club etc.
The college has a huge campus spread over about thirty three areas of land. It has a beautiful and airy double storey building, lush green lawns, separate common rooms for boys and girls and huge play grounds. The college has a newly constructed computerized library. The college has fully AC computer labs. The Science laboratories are well equipped with ultra modern equipment’s. Committed to the harmonious development of young boys and girls, the college constantly endeavors towards character building, developing love for learning and Indian culture, nationalism and secularism. It is hoped that with the starting of some more disciplines, the prestigious institution will be able to fulfill the aspirations of more and more young boys and girls of the area.
Pehowa is an ancient city and its religious significance is mentioned in several puranas, such as Skanda Purana (1st to 5th century CE), Markandeya Purana (4th to 6th century CE) and Vamana Purana (5th to 11th century CE)
