NATIONAL CADET CORPS (INDIA)
The N.C.C. is the Indian Military Cadet corps with its headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on Voluntary basis. N.C.C. is a tri-services organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and the cadets are given basic Military training in small Arms and prades. The Officers and cadets have no liability for active military services once the complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selection based on the achievements in the corps. N.C.C. was first started in 1666 in Germany. The N.C.C. in India was formed with National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was raised on 15th July 1948. The Motto of N.C.C. is “Unity and Discipline” which was adopted on 23rd Dec 1957. In 1954 the existing Tri colour flag was introduced. The three colours in the flag depict the three services in the corps, red for army, deep blue for Navy and light blue for the Air Force. At Head Quarters level, the N.C.C. is headed by a Director General with the rank of Lieutenant General.
The college is known for the emphasis it lays on N.C.C. traning The college has beenallowed two platoons of 106 Cadets by 10 Haryana Battalion, N.C.C.,Kurukshetra . A whole time N.C.C. Officer looks after the training andadministration of N.C.C. in the college. Oualification in N.C.C. proves very useful to the students in their future career Some seats are reserved in P.G. Classes for ‘C’ certificate holders. Service Selection(SSB) calls the ‘C’ certificate holders directly for interview for the post of Lieutenant. Recently Haryana Govt. has granted 5 marks to ‘C’ Certificate holders in the selection of lecturers in college.Our cadets have been participating regularly in different traning campus like Advance Leadership Camp, Rock Climbing, RegularArmy Attachment Camp etc
